Senator Mark Furner

Party: LABOR

Seat :

Voted AGAINST the Fair Indexation Bill

Senator Furner has stated in a number of his speeches his respect for the Defence community. An excerpt for his speech dated 15 June 2011, taken from his website.

"...In closing, may I sincerely pass on my deepest respect for those heroes who gave their lives. I give my condolences to their families and mates and to those injured in those terrible events, who were serving our country with such dignity and patriotism."

If he has such respect for the work the Defence does, why vote against the Bill? Or is it only those that are CURRENTLY serving?

Double Standard Yes No Senator Furner,
Most politicans have been known for double standards, depending on the moment. I would have thought voting against the fair indexation bill, after your speech on 15th june
supporting veterans is a double standard .Your time in parliament will have pension benefits at the end ,all we ask is the same benefits you recieve .(p.s. Have u been shot at lately,in your employ??) Your's Sincerely

Fair Go Campaign Yes No With all the posturing of pollies preferring to populate positive preamble presumably protecting their own pockets, this polly presents a picture particularly poorly to personell of past and present ex-service Personnell.
No regards at all Senator.

Dear Senator,
It has been drawn to my attention from http://www.justafairgo.net where you appear in the Shame File http://www.justafairgo.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=7&Itemid=161
that you are reported to have stated in a speech on 15 June 2011
"...In closing, may I sincerely pass on my deepest respect for those heroes who gave their lives. I give my condolences to their families and mates and to those injured in those terrible events, who were serving our country with such dignity and patriotism."

You voted against the Fair Indexation Bill for ex servicemen and women. It is hypocritical of you to mouth such platitudes. How can you really say such things when you know in your heart that the servicemen and women (past and currently serving in the defence of this great nation) will be the ones who suffer financial hardship because of your lack of courage to stand up and be counted in the Senate.
Your sincerely
