Dr Kelly is an ex- serviceman, who served between 1987 - 2007. Dr Kelly was recently interviewed by Radio Canberra 2CC (Listen here). It was hoped that Dr. Kelly would be one of the lead advocates for the fair indexation of Military Superannuation. However, despite all his assurances that he will continue to fight for a fair indexation, Dr. Kelly will always have to follow Party lines or he will be sacked! So all his recent posturings, all his assurances are rhetorical!
“If I’m elected as Member for Eden-Monaro, I will never stop campaigning on this issue until it is adopted and implemented for every Commonwealth superannuant in Eden- Monaro, and all of Australia.”
There have been many reported letters to Dr Kelly on this issue however, we have not had any reports of replies. If you have a letter you wish to show on this shame file or if you have a reply, please contact us on the link to the Left.

Speeches By Dr Kelly
Dr Kelly is in danger: so he has put up a thick smoke screen and changed course so as to appear to be "steadily building a group within caucus who are leaning to support him" and "chipping away at this issue". He also says he "learned in the Army that you do not leave anybody behind". So, he will NOT HELP ANYONE because he admits the Com Pub Service are also being scammed; he has gone into self protection mode and compares blame the previous Howard Governments for their waste and inaction. Just what is this man chipping away at? Trying to carve (chip) an image within his political party? You can bet your life on it. To say that the bill was a "DISGRACE" and it that was rejected by the Senate because it was a "Political Stunt designed to divide and rule". All it has done is increase my resolve. Divide? No unite. This man is my representative in in Federal Government!!! OH MY GOD. He runs with the foxes and thinks he appears to be a hound, to coin a phrase. I have never seen this country's Military and ex Military members unite against an elected government before.
There is so much more one could write, but thankfully others have covered this. We must keep up this fight for our basic rights on equity and our superannuation.
Just after the last election I meet with Kelly over a matter concerning this submission requesting him to follow it up. At this time he was the person responsible for this under Rudd. He didn’t follow it up and then things changed when Gillard took over and Senator Feeney took this role on. Kelly did nothing to follow up my request even though he was my local member.
I have been to Feeney on a number of occasions (I had to keep chasing him for answers) and finally he did write back to me saying they had decided against my request and the patrol boat activities would remain as peacetime service. (Obviously all to do with money) He promised me a response with their reasons for this decision and even after many inquiries to his office that letter with reasons still has not come. I have now accused them of being unprofessional. This government is NOT interested in ex or currently serving ADF members even though they continually say they are. I believe that there is only one way to deal with them and that’s through the media. To make this effective, all ex-service people and ESOs have to get together and have a combined effort. For example, if I tried it on my own they would ignore me like they have done before. When Alan Griffin was the DVA Minister he hated me because I was always up his ribs about their lack of attention to the issues with the military compensation processes. He instigated an inquiry into the military comp processes and he told me that the inquiry was to investigate the WHOLE of the military comp arena but we now know that it only really looked at the 2004 Act. It was a complete waste of money. So unless we do what we all used to be good at and work as a team we will not get anywhere with them. If you want to send this on to any of your ex ADF mates please do so and I would be very happy to talk with them.
