Shame on You

Dear Minister Gray MP,

I have just read your public statement in Sound Telegraph of 27March.

It is bitterly disappointing for privileged politicians to mislead the general public by declaring Defence superannuants as better served than the community at large.

Your statement "exactly what they

TPIs DENIED PENSION BOOST 'AGAIN'

If you only entitlement is the TPI rate or any other DVA Disability Pension rate you will receive three fifths of bugger all.

If your entitlement is TPI rate plus Invalidity Service Pension (the whole compensation package for being unable to work due to war caused wounding or trauma) you will receive two fifths of whatever Jenny Macklin says you are entitled to.

The agreed sustainable income for a TPI is made up of $30,000 pa TPI rate and $20,000 pa Invalidity Service Pension.

Yet the ALP has decreed that three fifths of your income is neither entitled to the Jenny Macklin "Maintaining the Purchasing Power of Pensions" increase of Sep 2009 or the now Jenny Macklin "We know how important it is to make sure that the pension does keep up with the cost of living," increase.

Jenny Macklin's ALP pension increase of 2009: DENIED TO ALL DVA DISABILITY PENSIONS.

Jenny Macklin's ALP pension increase of 2013: DENIED TO ALL DVA DISABILITY PENSIONS.

This is gratitude we get for placing your lives and future dreams on the line for.

Proof that the Government's financial data can not be trusted.

ASDOHeader

In the latest edition of the Defence Force Welfare Association's magazine Camaraderie, compelling evidence was presented in an expose, written by an independent researcher on matters relating to Commonwealth and Military Superannuation matters, that outlined very serious parliamentary reporting issues and matters concerning the explicit lack of quality assurance of Commonwealth financial and

demographic data. As is clearly shown, these errors amount to (at the very least) many tens of millions of dollars!

The Punch - Mounting a defence of our armed forces

Roberts

When Rod Stewart rocked Adelaide last month, he dedicated Rhythm of My Heart to the servicemen and women of Australia and Britain. I remember it distinctly for two reasons: 1) in Australia, we might 'well up' once a year as veterans march on ANZAC Day, but we most definitely don't fawn over serving troops; and 2) someone shouted "THANKYOU" in a way that implied "FINALLY, some bloody recognition".
